We caught up with Sophie and Adam for some Q&A:Â
Tell us about what inspired the pieces for this collection?
Our pieces are inspired by the stunning natural beauty of Alaska—its diverse landscapes and incredible wildlife. We love depicting the animals that call this place home. We also add a whimsical touch, blending reality with imagination.

Tell us a bit about yourself as artists?
We are Alaskan artists currently living in the city of Anchorage. Adam Shea, with his roots in Boston, made the decision to relocate to Alaska after completing his BFA from the Art Institute of Boston. Sophie Green is a life-long Alaskan, having grown up in Anchorage. Sophie and Adam started out by showcasing their artwork at various Alaskan festivals and galleries.
What else would you like to share about your process, drive, or artistic journey?
We both enjoy experimenting with different techniques and materials, mainly focusing on acrylics. We often paint from the same pile of paints resulting in harmonious color palettes. We’re constantly experimenting with new techniques and pushing our work to evolve. We particularly enjoy live painting at local festivals and events.

Favorite Wild Scoops flavor?
Sophie: Wildberry Sorbet
Adam: Double Chocolate Orange
Fun fact?
Adam’s work employs pareidolia to create hidden imagery in his art. Pareidolia is a universal psychological phenomenon where people tend to see familiar shapes or patterns, such as faces, in random or unrelated stimuli. It's why we might see faces in clouds, rock formations, or even in objects like textured walls.
